Job Description

About the Mahi (role)

The Gisborne clinic is expanding and we are on the lookout for a Physiotherapist who is passionate about improving health equity in rehabilitation and supporting clients in their recovery.

We can offer a diverse range of work such as Escalated Care Pathway, Vocational Rehab Services, Pain Management, Training for Independence and Early Intervention for pain and discomfort to nationwide companies in Gisborne.

The key tasks will include patient assessments and treatments, administration and reporting, liaison with colleagues, funders, and employers, and team meetings and training. You will embrace a collaborative approach to patient care by working closely with an integrated team. 

You will uphold our commitment to delivering excellent rehabilitation services with a patient-centric focus and strive to make a positive impact on the lives of our clients through comprehensive and compassionate care.

This is a full-time, Monday to Friday 40 hours per week role. However, we can offer flexibility to fit in with your lifestyle. 

Depending on your experience levels, you will receive extensive training and mentoring within a supportive environment. 

You will report to the Gisborne Clinic Manager and will be a key member of our clinic-based and community team in the Gisborne and Te Tairāwhiti region.

The successful candidate will be eligible to receive a $5000 sign-on bonus! (terms and conditions do apply).

 

About the Gisborne Team

The Gisborne team is an experienced group of Physiotherapists, Vocational Therapist, Exercise Consultant and amazing Clinic Administrators.

We have strong connections with Orthopaedic and Medical Specialists, a Counsellor, a Psychologist, a Clinical Pharmacist and Dietician, and local community exercise providers (Pilates, Gym, and Pool) to provide high-quality integrated care for our clients.

As part of the Gisborne team, you will be working within a beautiful, modern clinic with quality rehab equipment to support various clients. Our clinic is situated close to the Balance Street Village which includes two great cafes, Village Berry Ice Cream, Pharmacy 53, and Neighbourhood Pizzeria. Gisborne and the East Coast can offer you fantastic surfing, and an outdoor lifestyle which brings a great work-life balance!

Desired Skills and Experience

About You

This is a clinical role, therefore you must have a Bachelor's Degree in Physiotherapy.

We are open to receiving applications from Physiotherapists of all experience levels! 

A good understanding of te reo Māori, tikanga, and cultural safety or someone keen to progress their understanding and learning of te ao Māori would be sought after. 

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Very good organisational and communication skills
  • An ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
  • An awareness of how to provide top-quality customer service

  • Professional Indemnity Insurance & Professional Body Membership
  • Current clean, full driver’s license
