Job Description

About the Mahi (Role)

Our Well at Work Canterbury service has an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist to join the team.

You will solely work under Vocational Rehabilitation contracts. Therefore, you must be motivated and have experience and/or an interest in Occupational Health and Vocational Rehabilitation.

TBI Health works with many funders nationwide, providing a wide variety of workplace services. You will be working predominantly under the ACC return to work service as well as working with private organisations.

This is a full-time Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week role. However, you will have flexibility of work hours and the ability to schedule your own diary. 

You will also be able to complete administration and reporting within the TBI Health clinic in Central Christchurch.

In this role, you will receive extensive training and will be supported by the Regional Service Manager. You will be a key member of our team as well as the wider national Well at Work team.

About the Vocational South Island Team

Our team is a well-developed and experienced group of Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists with a wealth of knowledge. 

The team culture is fun and social. We love to have a good laugh together and work collaboratively. This includes regular team catch-ups, lunches, and social activities. 

Great staff success stories originated from this service. Some of the current team members have had the opportunity to contribute their expertise by taking on additional roles such as Clinical Advisor and Hauora Connect Kaiārahi. Be part of a team that has achieved great things in the equity space. We continue to increase the cultural capability of the team and build new networks in the community with Māori health providers and local iwi.

The Christchurch clinic is based on the edge of the CBD. We have good parking facilities and are within walking distance of great cafes. We have a large clinic, a high-quality gym, and a coffee machine!

Desired Skills and Experience

About You

This is a clinical role, therefore, you must have a Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy. 

We are open to receiving applications from all experience levels, as full training will be provided.

A passion for Vocational Rehabilitation and Return to Work contracts is essential.

To be successful in this role, you will be someone who:

  • Has a genuine interest in Vocational Rehabilitation
  • Can empower and motivate people
  • Very good organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage your time and workload efficiently 
  • An ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
  • A commitment to professional development
  • Has a current full practicing certificate to work in New Zealand
  • Has a full professional body membership and indemnity insurance
  • Has a current full clean driver’s license
