Job Description

About the mahi (role)

TBI Health is on the lookout for an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Physiotherapist to join our Whangarei Team!

This is fantastic opportunity for someone ready to take the next step in their career, offering both professional growth and the chance to mentor others within a supportive and collaborative environment.

As a full time Senior Physiotherapist, you'll work alongside a multidisciplinary team of physiotherapists and occupational therapists, delivering a broad range of rehabilitation services through ACC, insurance, and private contracts. These include Pain Management, TI's, physiotherapy services, musculoskeletal med fees, SpineCare, post-surgical and sports, as well as support for rest homes.

You'll report the Whangarei clinic manager and play a key leadership role, mentoring junior physios and helping shape the direction of the clinic.

Key tasks include:

  • Demonstrate and practice advanced levels of practice in assessing and treating patients efficiently and safely.
  • Responsible for ensuring all contract clinical reports and referrer letters are completed at an acceptable standard within contracted timeframes.
  • Liaise effectively with consultants, family doctors, case managers and co-ordinators and allied health professionals.
  • Contribute to culturally responsive service, including appropriate integration of Māori tikanga.
  • Provide support, supervision and training to new graduate physiotherapists and students when required.

Desired Skills and Experience

About you

Our ideal candidate is someone with a positive, team-oriented attitude who aligns with our vision and values. You'll bring at least 4 years of clinical experience, with a post graduate qualification viewed as a strong advantage. Experience working under ACC contracts is desirable, along with a genuine interest in mentoring and supporting junior team members as they grow in their careers.

Substantial orientation, training and support will be provided.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A genuine interest in the area of Musculoskeletal and Community Physiotherapy
  • A strong work ethic
  • A positive, motivated, and can-do attitude 
  • A desire to achieve clinical excellence and demonstrate leadership skills
  • A current practicing certificate to work in New Zealand, Full Professional Body Membership, and Full Indemnity Insurance
  • A full clean current driver’s licence
  • Bachelor’s Degree or above qualification

About the Whangarei team

Our Whangarei clinic opened in March 2022 with the vision of delivering high quality, multi-disciplinary rehabilitation services to our local community. We're a tight-knight, fun-loving, and laid-back team, passionate about delivering excellent care.

We've recently moved into a brand-new facility with a fully equipped gym, just a short walk from Okara Shopping Centre and local cafes.
