Job Description

About the Mahi (role)

Are you someone who enjoys connecting with people and being the welcoming face of a team? Do you take pride in your work, have a sharp eye for detail, and enjoy learning new systems and processes? If so, we’d love to hear from you!

Kickstart or grow your medical administration career by joining our Lower Hutt Clinic as a Permanent Full-Time Clinic Administrator (40 hours per week). We offer flexibility for the right candidate, and the role is Monday to Friday.

You will be supported by the Lower Hutt Clinic Manager and our Clinic Administration Team Leader, with full training provided. This is a varied, dynamic role with plenty of opportunities to make it your own.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Welcoming patients and creating a great first impression
  • Providing administrative and operational support to the clinic team
  • Responding to patient and referral queries
  • Invoicing contracts and processing payments
  • Ordering clinic supplies
  • Administering ACC, insurer, and third-party contracts

About the Lower Hutt Team

The Lower Hutt team is a friendly, social, and welcoming group! From daily morning quizzes to weekly shared morning teas and monthly team events, they know how to keep things fun and connected.

You will be based in the heart of the Lower Hutt CBD, with great access to public transport and plenty of parking options nearby. The clinic is just a short walk from Queensgate Shopping Centre and the scenic Hutt River walkway—perfect for a relaxing lunch break, especially with summer on the way.

Desired Skills and Experience

About You

While two years of administration experience is desirable, it’s not essential, we are looking for someone with a great attitude and a genuine passion for providing excellent customer service.

Previous experience working in a medical or healthcare practice, an understanding of ACC contracts, and familiarity with Gensolve would be an advantage.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • The ability to demonstrate empathy and build rapport with clients
  • A positive, proactive, and helpful attitude
  • A genuine interest in working in the healthcare sector

If you enjoy working in a people-focused environment where your contribution truly makes a difference, we’d love to hear from you!

Benefits of Joining TBI Health

In recognition of your commitment and shared passion for TBI Health’s goals, we offer:

  • Subsidised Southern Cross Health Insurance
  • Annual wellness allowance
  • Birthday leave
  • The opportunity to work alongside a skilled and experienced team of professionals
  • Comprehensive orientation and training
  • Sessions on incorporating Māori tikanga into your role
  • A proud New Zealand-owned company culture
