Job Description
About the Mahi (role)
We're on the lookout for an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Physiotherapist to join our growing team in Masterton.
This is a diverse and rewarding role with the opportunity to work across a variety of ACC and private contracts, including the Pain Management Service, Concussion Service, Integrated Care Pathway (ICPMSK), Training for Independence, Stay at Work, Back to Work, Early Intervention, Private vocational rehabilitation and Private in-patient Hospitals.
You’ll be part of a supportive, multidisciplinary team including Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Exercise Physiologists, Hand Therapists, Clinical Pharmacists, and Psychologists. We also maintain strong referral relationships with local and regional Orthopaedic and Pain Specialists to ensure our clients receive coordinated, high-quality care.
You’ll be based at our Park Street clinic, with plans underway to move into a new, purpose-built multidisciplinary centre—placing you alongside Orthopaedic Surgeons and radiology professionals. You’ll be supported by our experienced Masterton Clinic Manager and a collaborative team environment.
Key tasks include:
Demonstrate and practice advanced levels of practice in assessing and treating patients efficiently and safely.
Responsible for ensuring all contract clinical reports and referrer letters are completed at an acceptable standard within contracted timeframes.
Liaise effectively with consultants, GP's, case managers and coordinators, and allied health professionals.
Provide support, supervision, and training to new graduate physiotherapists and students when required.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members.
Engage in team meetings, quality audits, case discussions, and internal further education to enhance quality of work and client outcomes.

Desired Skills and Experience
About you
We’re seeking a candidate with strong organisational and communication skills, and a genuine passion for developing physiotherapy services. Experience in managing clients with acute injuries, post-operative rehabilitation, and chronic pain is highly valued.
You will hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physiotherapy and have a minimum of 4 years’ clinical experience.

Commitment to professional growth and quality client care
Current New Zealand practicing certificate, professional body membership and indemnity insurance
