Job Description

About the Mahi (role)

TBI Health Te Matau-a-Māui – Hawke’s Bay is seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Physiotherapist to join our vibrant and dedicated team based in either Hastings or Napier. This role has become available due to one of our valued team members moving on to their next adventure.

You can be based at either our Hastings or Napier clinics. You’ll be working alongside a highly experienced multidisciplinary team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, a Psychologist, and administrative staff.

Our regional team is known for being supportive, friendly, and social — we maintain a regular calendar of events to build strong personal and professional relationships.

While the role is primarily clinic-based, there is variety in the caseload — from musculoskeletal and vocational rehabilitation to concussion and aged-care rehab. No two days are the same in Hawke’s Bay!

Key responsibilities:

  • Assessment and treatment of a wide range of client conditions
  • Collaborative work with the wider multidisciplinary team
  • Report writing and communication with GPs, specialists, and funders
  • Participation in team meetings, case reviews, internal training, and quality initiatives

Desired Skills and Experience

About You

We’re looking for a clinician who’s driven, enthusiastic, and aligned with our values. You’ll ideally bring at least 4 years of clinical experience or hold a relevant post-graduate qualification. Full training and orientation will be provided.

You’ll also have:

  • A genuine interest in the area of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, manual therapy, exercise prescription and education skills
  • A strong work ethic
  • A positive, can-do attitude 
  • A desire to achieve clinical excellence
  • Very good organisational and communication skills
  • An ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
  • An awareness of how to provide top-quality customer service
  • A commitment to professional development
  • A current practicing certificate to work in New Zealand, Professional Body Membership, and Indemnity Insurance
  • Current full clean driver’s license
  • Bachelor’s degree or above qualification
