Job Description
About the Mahi
We are looking for a Psychologist to join our friendly, supportive team at our Christchurch clinic. This is a permanent, part-time role (24 hours per week) – with flexibility around days and hours.
You will enjoy a varied and interesting caseload, including ACC Pain Management Services, ICP service, and Training for Independence programmes.
You will be part of an experienced multidisciplinary team including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and another Psychologist on site – so there’s plenty of peer support and collaboration.
Key Tasks
Complete thorough assessments and provide sound, clinically reasoned recommendations
Deliver clear, well-structured assessment summaries with treatment goals
Provide effective, evidence-based psychological treatment
Collaborate with MDT members for the best client outcomes
Complete all required reports and letters to a high standard within timeframes
About the Christchurch Team
The Christchurch team is a small, close-knit group of clinicians and administrators. Our centrally located clinic features a well-equipped gym, onsite parking, and a coffee machine.
We are a hardworking, client-focused team with a fun culture, enjoying monthly social gatherings and activities like corporate rowing. The clinic is shared with our Vocational Rehabilitation and Hospital & Community teams, fostering collaboration across services.
The team is also committed to equity, building cultural capability and strong connections with Māori health providers and local iwi to better serve our community.
Desired Skills and Experience
About You
You are a qualified Psychologist with a postgraduate degree (Masters or Doctorate in Psychology or equivalent) and registration with the New Zealand Psychologists Board.
Two years of clinical experience is desirable but not essential, and substantial orientation, training, and support will be provided.
To succeed in this role, you will have:
Relevant postgraduate qualification and current registration as a Psychologist or Clinical Psychologist
Current Annual Practicing Certificate, professional body membership, and full indemnity insurance
Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-focused approach
Compassion, respect for diversity, and strong ethics
Efficient time-management and good written communication skills
Interest in ongoing professional development and upskilling
