Job Description

About the Mahi

We’re seeking a passionate and motivated physiotherapist to join our Nelson-Tasman team in a full-time hybrid role — working both in our central Nelson clinic and out in the community across the region. Hours are Monday–Friday (40 hours per week), with flexibility available to suit the right candidate.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Completing client assessments and developing tailored treatment plans.
  • Providing physiotherapy across clinic and community environments, including homes, workplaces, and rest homes.
  • Working across a range of contracts such as Physiotherapy, Pain Management, Training for Independence, Early Intervention, Integrated Care Pathway, Te Whatu Ora, Concussion, Functional Rehabilitation, Assessment Services, and Vocational Rehabilitation.
  • Collaborating with a friendly, multidisciplinary team as well as funders, employers, and other health professionals.
  • Documenting and reporting within Gensolve.
  • Supporting clients through injury recovery, rehabilitation, and long-term wellbeing.
  • Contributing to team meetings, training, and professional development.

You will be supported by an experienced Clinic Manager and work as a key member of our Interdisciplinary Rehabilitation Team.

About the Nelson Team

Nelson really needs no introduction — it’s famous for its sunshine, stunning natural beauty, local wines, and even world-famous peanut butter! Whether it’s mountain biking, beach walks, or snow on the hills in May, the Nelson-Tasman region offers an incredible lifestyle all year round.

Our Nelson-Tasman team is a close-knit, multidisciplinary group of 14, including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, exercise therapists, psychologists, and orthopaedic surgeons. In Nelson specifically, we’re an active bunch — exercise is one of our favourite pastimes!

We keep things fun with morning quizzes, team challenges, casual social catch-ups, and the occasional after-work drink or lunchtime hike to the Centre of New Zealand.

Our clinic is right in the heart of Nelson’s CBD — just a short stroll from the city centre, a quick run to the beach, and surrounded by great coffee and lunch spots.

Desired Skills and Experience

About You

You will be a confident, skilled physiotherapist with strong clinical reasoning and a positive, can-do attitude. While two years’ experience is preferred, we’re open to welcoming physiotherapists who can work independently and contribute effectively to our team.

You will be comfortable managing a varied caseload across multiple services. ACC experience is an advantage, but not essential — we will support you to build confidence in this area.

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

  • A strong interest in rehabilitation
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • A proactive approach to professional growth
  • A current practising certificate (NZ), indemnity insurance, and professional membership
  • A full, clean NZ driver’s licence
  • A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Physiotherapy

Benefits of Joining TBI Health

At TBI Health, we value your passion and commitment. In return, you will enjoy:

  • Competitive salary + bonus structure
  • Subsidised Southern Cross health insurance
  • Wellness allowance + birthday leave
  • Annual contribution towards career development and qualifications
  • Opportunities for career progression locally and across NZ
  • Regular MDT meetings, in-services, literature reviews, and case studies
  • Ongoing training, including incorporating Māori tikanga into practice
  • Mobile phone and vehicle provided for community work

How to Apply

Please include a cover letter with your application. All applications are confidential.

Applications close 2nd October 2025 — but we will be shortlisting and interviewing as applications come in, so apply early to avoid missing out.
