Job Description

About the Mahi (Role)

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated Physiotherapist to support the growth of our Ashburton clinic. We are open to full-time or part-time candidates, with flexibility in working hours.

You will build on the work of our current physiotherapist in the clinic, working as the sole physio alongside our local Occupational Therapist, helping to expand and develop the service further. You will work independently while being part of the broader Canterbury MDT, which includes Occupational Therapy and Psychology, and will be supported by our national MDT under a variety of ACC contracts.

The clinic is ideally located below a busy medical centre with established professional relationships, and next door to both a pharmacy and radiology, providing convenient access to complementary services.

At TBI Health, we are committed to delivering excellent, patient-focused rehabilitation services, making a meaningful impact on the lives of our clients through compassionate and comprehensive care. Your caseload could include Med Fees, Pain Management, ICP, Training for Independence, Early Intervention, VRS, SRNA, and Concussion services, depending on your skills and interests.

You will join a friendly and social team of around 20 employees across the Canterbury region and will be supported by the Regional Clinic Manager. As a key member of our Interdisciplinary Rehabilitation Team, you will also have access to the expertise and guidance of our National Network of highly trained rehabilitation professionals.

If you are looking to grow your leadership and clinical experience, work in a supportive environment, and make a real impact in your community, this could be the perfect role for you.

Desired Skills and Experience

About You

This is a clinical role, so you must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy and have a current practicing certificate to work in New Zealand, along with Indemnity Insurance. A clean New Zealand full driver’s license is also required.

The ideal applicant will have a minimum of 2 years clinical experience. Previous experience working under ACC contracts would be an advantage, but this is not essential. You must be able to work independently, demonstrate excellent clinical skills, and be self-motivated, enthusiastic, and keen to build up a caseload and grow community connections.

Substantial orientation, training, and support will be provided.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • A strong work ethic and positive, can-do attitude
  • A desire to achieve clinical excellence
  • Very good organisational and communication skills
  • The ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
  • Awareness of how to provide top-quality customer service
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development

Why Join TBI Health?

At TBI Health, we value your passion and commitment, and we are pleased to offer the following benefits:

  • The opportunity to grow and develop a local service
  • Flexibility in working hours
  • Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses
  • Subsidised health insurance through Southern Cross
  • Wellness allowance
  • Birthday leave
  • Comprehensive internal training programmes, orientation, and ongoing support
  • Annual contribution to career development
  • Access to several training sessions throughout the year focused on incorporating Māori tikanga appropriately in your role
