Job Description

About the Mahi (Role)

We are on the lookout for a motivated and experienced Physiotherapist to join our expanding Kapiti team in Wellington!

This is a full-time, permanent role (Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week), working 100% in our brand new, spacious clinic, complete with your own air-conditioned treatment room, in-clinic gym, and access to SNAP Fitness next door.

You will join a collaborative and supportive multidisciplinary team, and we are especially looking for someone excited to grow their expertise in the Integrated Care Pathways (ICP) contract. Full training and mentoring will be provided.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide high-quality, evidence-based physiotherapy
  • Assess and treat clients with a variety of MSK conditions
  • Collaborate with funders, employers, and your MDT colleagues
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and case notes
  • Contribute to team meetings and weekly CPD/in-service sessions
  • Gain experience across a range of ACC contracts, including ICP, Pain, Med Fees, and Training for Independence

If you are keen to learn and passionate about helping clients achieve great outcomes, this is an excellent opportunity to grow your physiotherapy career.

About the Kapiti Team

Our Kapiti team is a vibrant, multicultural group that values connection, collaboration, and delivering high-quality care. You will be based at our modern, purpose-built clinic at 144 Kapiti Road, just a short walk from local shops and cafes.

You will work alongside an experienced hand therapist, a women’s health physio, a pain management physio, hospital and community physiotherapists, and two friendly admins. We have a close-knit, supportive culture, complete with regular team lunches and opportunities for professional collaboration.

We are deeply committed to equity and continually growing our cultural capability. Building strong, respectful relationships with Māori health providers and local iwi is central to how we deliver care that truly reflects and supports the diverse needs of our region.

Desired Skills and Experience

About You

This is a clinical role, so you will need a Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy, along with a current practising certificate and indemnity insurance to work in Aotearoa, New Zealand.

You will have a minimum of two years’ clinical experience in New Zealand. Experience with ACC and other funded contracts is an advantage but not essential, as full orientation and ongoing training, including ICP contract management and key worker tasks, will be provided.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Strong clinical reasoning and confident decision-making
  • Clear, concise report writing
  • Commitment to clinical excellence and continuous learning
  • A professional, positive, and proactive attitude
  • Excellent time management and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team
  • Strong client focus and understanding of quality service delivery
  • Awareness of what good customer service looks like in healthcare
  • Willingness to learn and develop skills in ACC contract management

Benefits of Joining TBI Health

We value your contribution and are committed to supporting your well-being, growth, and career development. At TBI Health, you will enjoy:

  • Competitive salary plus performance bonuses
  • Subsidised Southern Cross health insurance
  • Wellness allowance and birthday leave
  • Discounted gym membership at Jetts Fitness
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) support
  • Reimbursement for APC, professional membership, and indemnity insurance
  • Extensive internal training, orientation, and ongoing mentoring
  • Annual CPD contribution and access to regular MDT meetings, in-services, and case reviews
  • Māori tikanga training sessions throughout the year
  • Clear career pathways into leadership, research, quality, and senior clinician roles
  • Conveniently located on the sunny Kapiti Coast — close to shops, motorway on-ramp, and easy parking

Hear From Our Team

From Karen, Physiotherapist:
“I’ve only been at TBI for a short time but so far have been really impressed with how welcoming everyone is. I love working in a small, local clinic, but it’s reassuring to have the resources and experience of a nationwide company behind you.  The support from TBI is great and there’s plenty of opportunities for further training. My small team is lovely and friendly, and they’ve helped me to feel settled really quickly. I’m looking forward to expanding my skills as a therapist in some new areas with TBI behind me.”
