Job Description

About the Mahi (Role)
Join our Lower Hutt clinic as a Registered Clinical Psychologist and make a meaningful difference in people’s lives every day. In this role, you will support clients across the lifespan, helping those recovering from injury through to those managing persistent pain, so they can rebuild confidence, regain independence, and return to the activities that matter most.

You will be part of a supportive, medium-sized team of allied health clinicians, working in the heart of Lower Hutt, just a short walk from Queensgate Mall. This is a full-time, Monday to Friday position, with flexibility in working hours available.

In this role, you will work across a range of contracts, including Pain Management, Training for Independence, Integrated Care Pathway, and Psychology Services.

Key responsibilities:

  • Comprehensive assessments and clinical reasoning
  • Clear written and verbal reports with treatment goals and rationale
  • Delivery of effective psychological interventions
  • Collaboration within a multidisciplinary team (MDT)
  • Timely completion of clinical documentation and referrer reports

Desired Skills and Experience

About you
This is a clinical role, so you must be a qualified Clinical Psychologist with a Postgraduate Degree (Masters/Doctorate or equivalent) and registered with the New Zealand Psychologists Board.
We are open to applications from all experience levels. Whether you're a new graduate or a senior psychologist, we would like to hear from you.

You’ll bring:

  • A current Annual Practising Certificate, Professional Membership, and Indemnity Insurance
  • Ideally, 2+ years’ experience with familiarity in ACC contracts (not essential)
  • An interest or experience in pain management and rehabilitation
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
  • Strong time management and written documentation skills
  • A respectful, values-led approach with a commitment to diversity and professional ethics
  • The ability to manage an independent caseload
  • A willingness to learn and grow – with full training, orientation, and ongoing support provided
