About the mahi (role)

Are you a new graduate physiotherapist ready to take your first professional step in a supportive and dynamic environment? TBI Health’s Wellington Hospital and Community team is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated physiotherapist to join our growing team.

This is a full-time role that offers a variety of community-based and private hospital experiences, including rostered weekend work – the perfect opportunity to gain hands-on experience across multiple settings early in your career.

You will join a supportive team of 10, including vestibular physiotherapists, community physiotherapists, occupational therapists, a neuropsychologist, team leader, and manager. This position has arisen due to a physio relocating overseas, providing an exciting opportunity to grow your career in a dynamic environment.

The role will include:

  • Complete private and ACC-funded physiotherapy assessments.
  • Provide patient education, training, treatment, and rehabilitation in a variety of community settings.
  • Deliver physiotherapy and manual handling training sessions for staff in aged care facilities and private hospitals.
  • Provide physiotherapy services for private and ACC patients in private hospitals (Boulcott and Southern Cross).
  • Contribute to the growth and development of TBI Health’s community assessment and rehabilitation services in Wellington.

You’ll report to the Regional Hospital and Community Services Manager and be a key member of both the Wellington multi-disciplinary team and the National Hospital and Community Rehabilitation Team. Administration and documentation tasks can be completed from home, with flexibility across the Wellington region.

Desired Skills and Experience

About you

The ideal candidate is someone who has a great attitude, shares our vision and values, and is a recent physiotherapy graduate (0–2 years’ experience). Substantial orientation, training, and support will be provided.
