Job Description

About the mahi (role)

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Physiotherapist with a strong interest in hospital and community rehabilitation to join our growing Hamilton team.

This is a part-time community-based role (20 hours per week) covering rest homes and ad-hoc community clients across Hamilton and the wider Waikato region. We offer flexibility in how hours are worked — this could look like three longer days or four shorter days, making it a great option for those wanting work-life balance or hours that fit around school schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct private and ACC-funded physiotherapy assessments
  • Provide patient education, training, treatment, and rehabilitation in community settings
  • Deliver physiotherapy services and manual handling training in aged care facilities and private hospitals
  • Support rehabilitation of private and ACC patients in private hospitals
  • Help develop and promote TBI Health’s community assessment and rehabilitation services in the Waikato region

You’ll be based at our London Street clinic, one of two centrally located clinics in the Hamilton CBD. With nearby beaches, nature walks, and a vibrant local food scene, it’s a fantastic place to live and work—plus, you’re just a short drive from Auckland for concerts and events.

Desired Skills and Experience

About You

Ideally, you will have at least 2 years’ clinical experience, including exposure to social rehabilitation contracts. However, we also welcome applications from new graduates who demonstrate the right attitude, willingness to learn, and a passion for delivering excellent client outcomes.

We will provide substantial orientation and support.

  • Current full clean driver’s license
  • Bachelor’s degree or above qualification

About the Hamilton team

Our Kirikiriroa-based team includes physiotherapists, occupational therapists, hand therapists, exercise physiologists, and psychologists. We pride ourselves on maintaining a supportive, inclusive, and social team culture.
